Gearing up for Africa

Three more days before we set off… There’s still a to to do, inevitably, and we have somewhat of a crisis on our hands: will we be able to transfer John’s photos onto my iPad and onto the blog? Having lured you all here with promises of great photos of the big Five etc it is a worry.

With my previous iPad there was no problem but since Apple redesigned the connection nothing ‘old’ works and all new Apple device owners have had to update their chargers, camera connection kits etc. at some expense but that’s anther story.

If we cannot resolve this problem instead of John with his photographic skills and great camera taking the photos for the blog, it will be me with my iPhone, no doubt taking selfies by mistake, movies instead of stills and generally making a meal of it.

At least he will have the photos, which we’d have to share with you all on our return.

  1. Dear Marion,
Love the blogs and am very much looking forward to hearing all about your trip to Africa (lucky you!) and seeing John’s photos, technology permitting! How exciting.

    1. Dear James
How really lovely to hear from you! Thank you for your almost instant response – it is so exciting to see the blog conversation beginning. We are very lucky to be setting off on this adventure. I hope technology helps not hinders. I am off to the Apple Store in Regent Street tomorrow, determined not to leave without some workable solution. If more than determination is needed it will be iPhone to the rescue, as far as the holidaying blog is concerned, and we’ll have to wait for our return before we can share John’s pics.
Lots of love to you and Mary and the boys!
