Gill, Mike shouldn’t need much persuasion! The only trouble is there is so much to see and two other famous galleries as well – you’ll need far longer than we have had. We’d love to pass on any helpful tips. John is missing his camera badly, and avoiding any sauces with specks of green in them, just in case, but otherwise loving our time here in Madrid. The tennis was most exciting, an unexpected treat, but a pity Andy Murray didn’t win!

For years Mike has been promising to take me to the Prado, so maybe your trip will inspire him to do so. We must pick your brains on Airbnb. A shame Murray lost to his nemesis, but it must have been exciting to be there!
